Here is a list of Local Favorites as listed on MSN CitySearch:

Best Barbeque
City Barbeque - Sloppy, crowded and absolutely delicious
2111 W Henderson Rd
Upper Arlington
(614) 538-8890

Meats are prepared in three big black smokers just beyond the restaurant. The process takes 18 hours, resulting in pink and flavorful ribs and other meats. The barbecue sauce is outstanding--mild, sweet and tasty without being full of vinegar. Be sure to order the corn pudding, a warm, moist casserole of cornbread mix, corn and butter.

Best Breakfast
First Watch - Variety and dependability make this corporate breakfast restaurant anything but a snooze
496 S High St
(614) 228-7554

The menu offers everything from egg white omelettes for health nuts to biscuits and sausage gravy for those who are a little more cavalier about their cholesterol levels. Somewhere in between, you'll find Sonoran Frittatas, salsa omelettes and fresh fruit crepes.

Best Burrito
Chipotle Mexican Grill
Multiple locations throughout the city
(614)481-0105

The food is decent (not authentic, but still good) take it from a real live Mexican-American.

Best Cheap Eats
Nancy’s Home Cooking - Cramped, crowded, cheap and comforting--a classic diner
3133 N High St
(614) 265-9012

Best Chinese
Windchimes Chinese Restaurant
5742 Frantz Road

(614) 792-0990

A small intimate setting serving some of the best Chinese around. Known for the reasonable prices and large portions Windchimes is a must for any Chinese food lover. Some of their signature dishes are Spicy Chicken Delight, Mala beef and Lemon Chicken.

Best Cup of Coffee
Cup O’Joe - Masters at creating a clean but quirky, straight-laced but hip coffeehouse
atmosphere
Multiple Locations
(614) 221-1563

Multiple roasts are brewed daily and ranked according to their strength. All the usual lattes, mochas and cappuccinos are also available and made with Stauf's coffee. Cup O' Joe is a dessert house, so there are plenty of sweets.

Best Hamburger
Thurman Café - One of the most well-loved nightspots in the German Village area
183 Thurman Ave
(614) 443-1570

The fare here is reasonably priced, and you'll need a pretty healthy appetite to polish off one of the astoundingly huge, juicy burgers.

Best Italian
Buca Di Beppo - Like food in a cartoon, everything at this Italian chain is larger-than-life

343 N Front St
(614) 621-3287

Everything is served in huge, family-style portions, so bring friends. The meatballs are softball-sized; the tasty Caesar salad can feed at least six.

Best Kid-Friendly Restaurant
Spaghetti Warehouse - Meatballs, fortune-tellers, dinner theater and a trolley car--all under one roof

397 W Broad St
(614) 464-0143

If you like your Italian cuisine devoid of garlic and spices, this is the place to go. Otherwise, just soak up the atmosphere and feed the kids. They can't help but enjoy the restaurant's nutty nostalgia.

Best Mexican Food
El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant - A good choice if you're craving Mexican food or just a casual place to eat
3230 Olentangy River Rd
(614) 261-0900

You won't find any nouveau-fusion cuisine, but that's not why you're here--this is a refried beans kind of place. And the refried beans are tasty, as are the tacos, enchiladas, burritos, chalupas, tamales and fajitas. Sauces are savory, and spices are generally medium-strength.

Best Pizza
Bexley Pizza Plus - The least pretentious gourmet pizza you'll ever have
2540 E Main St
Bexley
(614) 237-3305

Best Vegetarian Food

Entrees at lunch and dinner are all good; notables include tempura yams, jerk vegetable pizza, seitan barbecue and "dragon licked" nigiri tofu. At brunch, order the crepes, rice pudding or deli plate. To give your meal a perfect finish, try the featured ice cream or sorbet, even if that day's special sounds peculiar--it's guaranteed to be amazing.
